Join us to Discover Dartmoor with our 3 day self led route, crossing the Northern and Higher Moorland regions of Dartmoor. This is a challenge, so please do your research with our help before committing to a date.
Day 1 -
Meet & greet in Exeter, we can collect you from a local Airport or Railway Station subject to availability. The Rider + Bike transfers operate from our Exeter base. Here you can try hire bikes, choose accessories and get a briefing from our expert staff on the journey ahead. We transfer to the old Okehampton Railway station for the start of your tour. The riding is mostly off road today, following the NCN route 27 to Tavistock, 21 miles with 623 feet of ascent and 1070 feet of descent.
Day 2 -
Leaving your accommodation you'll head east towards Princetown, with Dartmoor's open roads in front of you can be sure that the scenery will be epic and the riding will match it! Taking your route across the Moor from West to East, you will cover 25.5 miles and climb 2835 feet with 2976 feet descending.
Day 3 -
Take the back roads through the beautiful Lustleigh, Chagford, Throwleigh, Sticklepath. If times allows then we can arrange a visit to a Dartmoor Artisan on your way, the area around Moretonhampstead and Chagford is rich with local crafts workers and a select few have offered to share their craft with visitors!
The ride will end where you started, the Old Railway Station at Okehampton having completed 22.2 miles of cycling with 2044 feet going up and 1453 feet going down. The Bike Bus will provide return transfers to onward travel connections.
